Hi Marissa,
I made a movie for you doing the project in Gimp, but it had the slow audio again... I am working with tech support at the company that wrote the software to try and get that problem straightened out...
Basically you put down one letter, then instead of using the wand tool to copy the letter, right click on the type layer and select copy layer... Rotate each successive one 60 degrees more to the right....
